Fishermen filletted

The Ilwaco Fishermen were in too deep Friday night as they opened the Trico League portion of their schedule with a 35-12 loss to the Warriors of Rochester.

Down with a halftime defeicit of 28-0, James Schneider and his Ilwaco teammates listen to a halftime address from their coach Kevin McNulty.

Things started out positive enough, as Jake Nesbitt, who would see his time at quarterback limited on the night, made a tackle of Logan McFarland on the opening kickoff. Rochester proved unstoppable in the first half, building a four touchdown lead by halftime.

The second half wasn't much better for the Fishermen, as Warriors quarterback Jarin Ruiz ran free most of the night, gaining large chunks of yardage and touchdowns, a total of four scores on the night.
