NHS football: Comets Put Up a Good Fight

Last night's game was one that came down to a single play. Unforunatly, the Willapa Vikings had that one play. It came early in the fourth quarter on a 4th and 6 situation. Valley QB, Josh Mayfield, threw a risky pass that went just inches over Austin Burkhalter's outstretched arms for a 18 yard touchdown. Give credit to the Vikings, though, they were able to score. We made it deep into Valley territory three times but couldn't muster a paydirt experience. It was a hard fought battle until the end and either team could've came out with the victory.

Even though we lost, it is definitely not the end of our season. Next week we take on Northwest Christian and are ready to make our stand. We, as a team, belive we can still make it to the playoffs and we're ready to do whatever it takes to get there. On Friday night we lost to the number 7 team by a single play and that is the best Naselle has done in many years. We are ready for every other battle there is to come.
