No rain, no problem. Despite calls for rainy weather Saturday, the Comets played under flawless skies while routing the Seattle Lutheran Saints in the first round of the 2B state playoffs at Interlake High school field in Bellevue. From their first offense possesion, which ended with a fourth down QB scramble for a touchdown, to their final defense sequence, which resulted in a forced fumble, the Comets dominated every phase of the game. While taking a 34-0 lead in the first half, you had to know things were going to go the Comets way, as Kyle Burkhalter recovered his own fumbled while running in for a 2-point conversion. What a great game for Naselle, getting their first STATE playoff win in about 20-some years. Here's what I saw, in pretty much chronological order ....
