Comets clobber Gulls in league opener, 32-7

NASELLE - The Comets fashioned a 12-play, 57-yard drive in the first period to go up 6-0 and then took advantage of three fumble recoveries to score each time in running away from Raymond 32-7 in the opening Pacific 2B football game for both squads in Naselle Friday.
Coach Jeff Eaton said, "Our line of Mike Shirley, Manuel Lopez, Marcus Sanchez, and freshmen Seth Scrabeck and Nick Zimmerman dominated both sides of the line of scrimmage and that's what it takes to win in this league." He was also thankful that "no one really was hurt bad tonight and we should have everybody back and healthy for next week" when the Comets visit co-league champion Valley.
