Fishermen's Pre-game and Upcoming Debut

We have been waiting for this moment since winlock last year. We have been motivated majorly by our head coach Kevin Mcnulty. He has given us two team rules that we will use for the rest of our lives. "Rule #1- Don't let your teammates down." And this rule means the same, but completely different things to each of our players.

To me, it means: no drinking, no smoking, no drugs at all, show up to practice on time, and be there for our teammates for the rest of their lives. Our two team rules do not end of the field. Always be there for each other, each and every sport and every single other thing you do.

This is the most inspiring thing i have ever heard in my live. This is what one of our Varsity quarterbacks David Sinor (senior) had to say about being a team.
"Team Defined as - A group of people together Using Their Diffrences to perform as a Whole in a Unified Matter. A team is a group. A team is solid. A team is a family. A Football team shows all of these things every where they go. They show the community around them the way and respect of youth today. WE show everyone we see that we are part of something bigger. We show them that we chose to come to workouts over the summer. we show them that we give up ever afternoon to something bigger. We play for one another every day we know that we are not playing for ourselves but for the other ten guys that are on that field. Now I have heard alto of very knowledgeable people say things about teams that i think everyone should hear. "Individual commitment to a group effort - that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work." --Vince Lombardi. You see if you just have an commitment to a team and not just to yourself if you are not selfish then you will be successful at anything you do. Also The leaders who work most effectively, it seems to me, never say 'I.' And that's not because they have trained themselves not to say 'I.' They don't think 'I.' They think 'we'; they think 'team.' They understand their job to be to make the team function. They accept responsibility and don't sidestep it, but 'we' gets the credit.... This is what creates trust, what enables you to get the task done. In the world you will find men who want to be carried on the shoulders of others, who think that the world owes them a living. They don't seem to see that we must all lift together and pull together. It is easy for a person to 'Talk' it isn't easy for a person to 'Do'. You see people all the time that 'Talk' about others and how to fix things and how to make them better, but rarely will you see a person 'Do' things to help others 'Do' things to fix what is wrong, to make things better. It always comes back to the leader or the boss they are the key to the car they start every thing they get the pistons moving they get the whole 'Team' moving excited. It is the speed of that person that gets everyone moving. "I've always found that the speed of the boss is the speed of the team." I am not sure who said that but they are a pretty smart person. You also need to know that is not a singularity it is a unity a community a team it is never about I cause talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships. I know most teams tat i have been on have not had that many numbers but never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed. It is the only thing that ever has. You are part of a group of people that are together Using Their Differences to perform as a Whole in a Unified Matter, a TEAM!"

No one could have said it better David.

Varsity Team updates

Our varsity is ready to go. Each and everything we do at practice is to get us better. We have a big set of linemen and quick set. We have advantages in both. If we want to pass, we get the bigger guys in and no one gets through them. If we want to do a trap we get the quick guys in. Either way, we have faith in our linemen. Everyone of running backs are shorter then 5'6 and we find that to have it's advantages. We have three quarterbacks on varsity Justin Short, David Sinor, and Rey Sanchez will all be playing a lot. We have three centers, a short, a quick, and a big, can't fail. One of varsity quarterback's junior Justin Short will be playing Wide Receiver and senior Kolby Kirby at the other receiver. There is just too to many name.

We do anything to get better. We condition daily in various ways "Conditioning isn't a punishment, it's a reward."

Thoughts on facing Winlock

We look at this to be just like a scrimmage, but more competitive. This is just another chance to get better. "Only our league games count" Our next four games are to per pare us for kalama. We are going to be tested mentally and physically each and every play. We have to keep our brains on.

We can't come out cocky like we did to Whitesalmon last year. Two years ago, we beat Whitesalmon, last year, we underestimated them and lost. We can reassure, it won't happen again.

Only playing football will tell you if we are ready to play

i leave you with this.

"G.A.T.A." (good attitude towards athletics)

p.s i assure you that when i write again it won't be this long;] lol
