ON TO STATE!

This Thursday, we clinched a state playoff berth for the third year in a row. ON TO STATE!!! We are now 9-1 (5-1 league) and looking forward to the first round of the playoffs. We have continually been getting better, overcoming challenges, and powering through the season. Our one blemish, a loss to Valley, came in week five. Since then we have been on a roll and have outscored our opponents 214-34. With our offense clicking and our defense firing on all cylinders, we blazed through Northwest Christian, Seattle Lutheran, North Beach, South Bend, and finally Ocosta to come out second in the Pacific League. Now we are on to our most formidiable opponent yet Tacoma Baptist.

Tacoma Baptist (9-0) is ranked fourth in the AP poll has faced several opponents on our schedule: Northwest, South Bend, North Beach, and Seattle Lutheran. Comparing scores really should have little value, but it is fun to do anyway. Tacoma Baptist scored 174 points against similar enemies while we managed 185. However, Tacoma held them to eight points less, their 34 to our 42. According to the numbers, it should be a hard-fought game. I think it really will. We play this saturday at Curtis High School in Tacoma, Washington at 7:00pm. Come and root on the Naselle Comets as they take on the Tacoma Baptist Crusaders! GO COMETS!!!
