Naselle player post - Still Much Work To Be Done

26-12 was the final score on the scoreboard Fiday Sept. 1oth with the Comets coming out on top again. The game seemed to look like we were going to play very well on the opening kick-off when I kicked it off to Warrenton's #1 receiver Tyler Norfleet who fumbled it right off the bat giving us the opening drive. We had 3 backs run for over 100 yards each and Robert Eaton (who had 152 yards carrying the ball) led us in yards and TD's with 3. On defense we were caught just a little bit off guard when they turned to Benjo Musa and their speedy Wildcat offense. However, we kept our cool, adjusted our defensive scheme, and held them to only two scores. We still had a big problem holding on to the football with 6 or 8 fumbles I think. But our blocking on the front line improved dramatically in my opinion compared to our season opener. All in all, it was a hard fought game commanded by the ball carriers (one in particular) and once again the Comets pulled it together for another win. Now we will get ready for next week's challenge.
