ILWACO - Toledo scored early and often as they went ahead 34-0 after the first period and then cruised to a 54-0 Trico League win over the Fishermen at Peterson Field Friday. The Indians had 359 yards of total offense to 118 for Ilwaco, with 319 of those yards coming on the ground.
Josh Berteaux was the leading Fishermen rusher with 45 yards in 12 carries and halfback Austin Woodby completed a 30 yard pass to Justice Schenk. After Toledo's touchdown in the third period a running clock was used as the score was 47-0 and the running clock is employed when one team has a 45 or more point lead.
Ilwaco is now 0-5 in the Trico and 1-6 overall, while the league-leading Indians are 5-0 and 6-1 for the year.
