NHS Football - Bad Summer Luck, Patching Up The Team

I guess you could say that our team has had some bad luck this summer. Junior running back Nick Hines strained his Achilles' tendon at work and hasn't been able to pratice yet this summer. Adding to the walking wounded is Cody Gilbert who won;t be able to play in the first couple games due to health complications. We are also going to miss two starters due to academic ineligibility for awhile.
But, on the bright side, practices have been going well and younger althletes are stepping up. Filling in at halfback is Logan Scrabeck, a sophomore who had some varsity time last year. At the other halfback spot is Nathan Carlson. He is also a sophomore. The defense is shaping up also, with much help from our persistant coach, Clyde Glick. Coach Glick is new to the Comet staff this year.Fillins on defense include: Tyler Smith at strong saftey and Scrabeck at cornerback.
For the moment things are looking good and we're all pumped for our first game this friday against the Vancouver Christian Light. TURN OUT THE LIGHT!!
On another note, we would like to thank Okie's Market, the Rosburg Store and Amber Eaton for donating Gatorade and Powerade for our two-a-day practices.

NHS Fullback, Linebacker
